By reading this blog, subscribing to our mailing list, or purchasing any of our digital workbooks or printables (together, “Products”), you’re agreeing to these Terms. We’ve tried to write them in plain language wherever the law allows, because we’d rather you actually understand what you’re agreeing to than skim past a wall of legalese. If something here doesn’t sit right with you, please don’t use the site or buy a Product — and feel free to reach out with questions first.
About This Site
Peace by Piece is a personal blog offering reflective writing, journaling workbooks, and printable resources for people navigating a loved one’s addiction and its impact on relationships and family life.
This site does not provide medical, psychological, therapeutic, or legal advice. Everything here is shared for reflection, education, and personal support, based on lived experience — not a substitute for therapy, counselling, medical treatment, or crisis support. Using this site or a Product doesn’t create a therapist-client, counsellor-client, or coaching relationship between you and us. If you’re in crisis or need immediate help, please reach out to a licensed professional or your local emergency services.
A Content Note
This blog and its Products discuss difficult, sensitive subject matter — addiction, grief, betrayal, relationship breakdown. Some posts, prompts, or workbook questions may be hard to sit with.
By choosing to read, subscribe, or use a Product, you’re agreeing that:
- Your engagement with this site is entirely voluntary — you’re free to stop reading or set a workbook aside any time it feels like too much.
- You’re responsible for gauging your own emotional readiness for this material, and for reaching out to a qualified mental health professional if you need one.
- To the fullest extent the law allows, Peace by Piece and its owner aren’t liable for emotional or psychological distress that comes from reading this content or using a Product.
If it’s ever too much, please stop, and reach out to a licensed professional or a crisis service in your area. Our full Disclaimer page goes into more detail on this and is considered part of these Terms.
Who Can Use This Site
You need to be at least 18, or the age of legal majority where you live, to buy a Product or subscribe to our mailing list. Using the site confirms you meet that.
Our Digital Products
Every workbook and printable here is a digital file (usually PDF), delivered electronically — nothing physical ships.
When you buy or download a Product, you get a personal licence to download and print it for your own non-commercial use, including reprinting a worn page for yourself.
What you can’t do with a Product: resell it, redistribute it, share it, or upload it anywhere else, whether for free or for money; use it commercially, including folding it into a paid course, coaching program, or resource bundle you sell; or claim you made it or strip out our branding.
Products are delivered instantly by download link or email once payment goes through, so please double-check the email address you give us. We also reserve the right to limit unusually high download activity on a single purchase, while making sure genuine buyers can always get to what they bought.
Payments
Payments are processed securely through PayPal, Paystack, Payfast, or another reputable processor we may add later. We never directly store or see your full card details — that’s handled entirely by whichever processor you use, under their own terms and privacy policies.
Prices are shown in US Dollars and can change without notice, though never retroactively for something you’ve already bought. Currency conversion and any related fees are between you and your bank or card issuer. If a Product is ever mispriced due to a typo or technical glitch, we reserve the right to cancel that order and refund you, even after it’s been confirmed.
Refunds
All digital sales are final. Because a downloaded file can’t really be “returned,” we don’t offer refunds or exchanges once you’ve bought a Product — except where the law requires it, or where something’s genuinely gone wrong on our end (a corrupted file, a failed delivery). In those cases, we’ll gladly fix it.
If your download isn’t working, email us at welcome@peacebypieceblog.com first so we can sort it out before you request a refund.
Our Content Belongs to Us
Everything on this site — the writing, the personal reflections, the workbook questions, the layouts, the “Peace by Piece” name and logo — is original work, protected by copyright the moment it’s created, and owned by us regardless of the pen name it’s published under. Buying a Product gives you the personal-use licence described above; it doesn’t transfer any ownership to you.
Beyond that personal licence, please don’t, without asking us first: copy, screenshot, or reproduce our content; repost or share it anywhere else, including social media, forums, or newsletters; use it (or a close paraphrase of it) to build a competing product or “inspired by” workbook; feed it into any AI or machine learning system to train or improve it; claim authorship or strip our attribution; or translate or adapt it for others.
If you spot someone using our content without permission, please tell us at welcome@peacebypieceblog.com — we take this seriously and will pursue whatever legal steps are needed. The name “Peace by Piece” and our logo are ours, and shouldn’t be used for anything else without our written permission.
Using This Site Respectfully
While you’re here, please don’t scrape or bulk-download our content or Products, use the site for anything unlawful or harmful, pretend to be someone you’re not, or try to access parts of the site, other people’s accounts, or our systems without permission.
If the site ever lets you create an account — say, to redownload a past purchase — you’re responsible for keeping your login details safe and for what happens under your account. Tell us right away at welcome@peacebypieceblog.com if you think someone else has gotten in.
If you send us a testimonial, review, or other feedback, you’re giving us permission to use and share it (including your first name or initials, at our discretion) for marketing — unless you tell us otherwise. And if comments are open on the blog, we can remove anything unlawful, abusive, or spammy without notice.
A Few Practical Notes
This site sometimes links to other websites or services — payment processors, our email provider, social platforms. We’re not responsible for what happens on those sites once you leave ours, and linking to something isn’t an endorsement of it.
Everything here is offered “as is.” We can’t promise the site will always run perfectly, and we don’t guarantee that reading the blog or completing a workbook will lead to any particular outcome — healing, relief, or resolution looks different for everyone, and these are reflective tools, not a guaranteed fix.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential harm arising from your use of the site or Products — including emotional distress from the content (see “A Content Note” above), disappointment with how a Product “worked” for you, or decisions you make based on anything you’ve read here.
If you end up breaching these Terms or misusing a Product in a way that causes us harm or legal exposure, you agree to cover us for that. And we’re not responsible for delays caused by things outside our control — server outages, payment processor issues, power failures, and the like.
We may modify, pause, or discontinue a Product or part of the site at any time, though that won’t take away your access to something you’ve already bought, barring a genuine technical hiccup.
The Legal Housekeeping
We may update these Terms occasionally — the “Last updated” date above will always reflect the latest version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, and any disputes go through South African courts. That’s just to give the business one consistent legal home — it doesn’t limit who can read the blog or buy a Product from anywhere in the world, and if you’re outside South Africa, you likely have additional consumer protections under your own country’s laws that apply alongside these Terms. Nothing here overrides any right you can’t legally sign away under South Africa’s Consumer Protection Act or similar laws.
If any part of these Terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. Together with our Privacy Policy, these Terms are the whole agreement between us — nothing said elsewhere overrides them. Not enforcing something once doesn’t mean we give up the right to later. We can transfer these Terms if the business changes hands; you can’t transfer your side without our written okay.
